The Government has today announced the following increases to the National Minimum Wage with effect from October 2015:
|Standard Adult Rate||For workers aged 21+||£6.70/hour (+20p / 3%)|
|Development Rate||For workers aged 18-20||£5.30/hour (+17p / 3%)|
|Young Workers Rate||For workers aged 16-17||£3.87/hour (+8p / 2%)|
|Apprenticeship Rate||£3.30/hour (+57p / 21%)|
|Accommodation offset||£5.35/day (+27p / 5%)|
The increases are in line with the recommendations of the independent Low Pay Commission with the exception of the Apprenticeship Rate which has been increased by 21% rather than the recommended 3%.
