I also think a "heads up" would be useful at the beginning of the conveyancing process regarding the breadth & depth of questioning regarding your personal funding to alleviate any adversarial communication tone.

We are always happy to stop and explain if we are asked, but we will discuss how perhaps we can improve our day to day communication. On the subject of funds checking thank you again for your thoughts. It's a really difficult one for us this, as the Anti-Money Laundering regulations are getting ever stricter and we are expected to really understand and get evidence of where our clients' money is coming from to help combat increasing levels of property fraud. Sometimes we know it can feel a bit like a forensic examination for which I can only apologise. If it's any consolation, our AML procedures were recently audited by our regulators who indicated that we were getting the balance about right when they reviewed a selection of our conveyancing files, so please rest assured it wasn't anything specific to your case.
