Ben Backhouse last night attended a dinner at the Houses of Parliament organised by Essex Chambers of Commerce, sponsored by Essex and Suffolk Water and hosted by Priti Patel, MP for Witham. Backhouse Solicitors is a long-standing member of the Essex Chambers and Ben sits on the Chelmsford and Mid-Essex committee.
Commenting on the dinner, Ben said:
“I was very pleased to attend the dinner and support the Essex Chambers. Never having been to the Palace of Westminster before, the surroundings provided a great sense of occasion and the food and company were both excellent. Priti Patel gave a very interesting speech – as a new MP in 2010 she has found her feet quickly and is clearly very focused on the issues she feels are important. I predict that she is one to watch over the course of this parliament.”
