This summer our staff enjoyed an afternoon of bonding, socializing, and a very unique team building event.
The afternoon kicked off with an inhouse Dragon’s Den meets the Apprentice team building and training event. Each group broke off into separate rooms where they discussed a strategy and took on the challenge to present their ideas to the Dragons (aka the management team!) During their brainstorming and briefing session, they were accompanied by secret spies noting any lightbulb moments, leadership skills and anything that amused them!
When all the pitches were complete, a sigh of relief echoed through the Backhouse office of ‘glad that bit is over’! With everyone in fine spirits it was then time to head to The Battle Boom Bar to throw a few axes and partake in some crazy golf.
After some well-earned cocktails and a selection of games, the team ventured down to The Two Brewers in Chelmsford for a few beverages and a tasty BBQ. Once fed and watered, it was time to announce the winners of the team building task. The staff were silent with intrigue. This year’s trophy was awarded to Ben, Josh, Alfie and Nathan for their absolutely outstanding pitch. The Dragons were extremely impressed and unanimous in their decision. Managing Director Minal Backhouse thanked and congratulated everyone for their participation and fantastic effort. Even the secret spies dished out a few random prizes to individuals they felt worthy of acknowledgement.
Thank you to Tony and the staff at The Battle Boom Bar in Chelmsford and Dani at The Two Brewers for accommodating us, the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful.

It is safe to say that the team building afternoon was a huge success and everyone from Team Backhouse thoroughly enjoyed the day, and we cannot wait for the next one!
