What an excellent meeting – thank you very much to all the guests who braved the tropical conditions to join us on 17 July. It’s great to see the Friends of Braintree Town meetings getting so popular. We’ve averaged 50 attendees from an excellent mix of local businesses at our first three events and we aim to double this over the coming months.
We attended the Braintree Business Showcase last week and met several members of the team from Braintree District Council. They are keen to build links with local business and promote growth in the Braintree area, so we are very pleased to announce that Nicola Beach, the Chief Executive will be joining us at our next meeting on Thursday 15 August. Why not come along and find out how you can engage with the Council to benefit your business?
As always, the meeting will be a great opportunity for businesses from Braintree and the surrounding areas to get together in a relaxed and informal environment to meet new contacts and strengthen existing relationships. There is no speed networking, you don’t have to give a speech and it won’t cost you a penny!
So what do you need to know?
We get together once a month at Braintree Town FC (The Amlin Stadium, Clockhouse Way, Braintree, Essex, CM7 3RD). The next meeting is a breakfast on Thursday 15 August from 7.00am – 9.00am. The meetings are free to attend – if you like us and you’d like to join up and support the club there is a great membership package which includes advertising space and a copy of the attendance list with contact details, but that’s up to you. There’s plenty of free parking and food, tea and coffee is provided free of charge. How’s that for great value?
The meetings are very informal – there are no bells or whistles and you don’t need to give a 60 second speech. We expect a lot of bookings, so we can guarantee you will meet a real mix of businesses – large and small. This is a great opportunity to make new contacts and catch up with old friends in a relaxed environment. Minal Backhouse, our MD will give a short presentation on a current topic of interest, so you’ll have 5 minutes’ break to eat your food!
If you’d like to come along
Either drop our Business Development Manager Aaron Desmond an email at:
Or give him a call on 01245 893404 or 07802 807197.
To keep things fair, we only allow up to 5 businesses from any trade or profession to attend, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Aaron will add contact details of everyone who books in to the attendance list which is available to you if you become a member.
If you can’t attend this time
The meeting after next will be an evening event on Thursday 19 September from 4.30pm-6:30pm.
If you contact Aaron now, he will make sure you get a reminder.
Last but not least, if you know someone you think might be interested then please feel free to forward a link to this webpage – the bigger the group, the more new contacts we all make and everyone’s a winner.
We look forward to seeing you there!
