The conciliation service ACAS have issued a warning to beware of fraudsters pretending to be part of ACAS or acting on their behalf.

The warning is aimed mainly at employers and warns that the fraudsters provide free up-front advice then seek to sign companies up to long term expensive advisory contracts for employment law and health and safety advice.

ACAS warn employers to beware of anyone saying they are from ACAS who they haven’t contacted through the ACAS website or by contacting their helpline directly.

Backhouse Solicitors strongly advises employers to ensure that they are dealing with a reputable organisation before signing up for any long term employment law advice contracts.  We are specialist employment solicitors regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and our complaints procedure falls under the Legal Ombudsman.  We can provide high quality specialist employment law advice for your business, including legal updates, a helpline and annual meetings for as little as £20 per week.
